Advisors at UTM

As part of my Statistics Research Project at the University of Toronto, I had the opportunity to work on a project focused on understanding student behavior at the registrar's office. Our goal was to estimate the average number of students who visit each type of advisor (Academic, Financial, and Success) over a given period of time.

To accomplish this, we first developed a project proposal that outlined the target population, mean that we would be estimating, the sampling frame, sampling size, sampling method, and data collection methodology. We then used a specialized script in Python to collect data from the university's website over a period of 28 days.

Once we had collected the necessary data, we analyzed it to determine the average number of students who visited each type of advisor. We found that the most popular advisor was the Academic advisor. We also identified any limitations or qualifications in our data and discussed the implications of our findings for the university.

Finally, we presented our results in the form of a technical report and a business data science presentation. This project allowed me to develop a range of valuable skills, including data collection and analysis, report writing, and presentation skills.
