Teaching Assistant

University of Toronto

As a teaching assistant at the University of Toronto, I had the opportunity to support professors in the delivery of several statistics courses, including STA258 (Statistics with Applied Probability), STA215 (Applied Statistics), and STA305 (Experimental Design).

My responsibilities included creating lesson plans, grading tests, assignments, and exams, running tutorials, and holding office hours for students. This role allowed me to gain valuable experience in teaching and mentorship, as well as to contribute to the education and success of university students.

I also developed strong skills in organizational development, student development, communication, and teaching. Working closely with professors and students, I learned how to effectively plan and deliver course materials, assess student progress, and provide support and guidance to help students succeed.

Overall, this role was a great learning opportunity that has prepared me for future teaching and leadership roles in academia and beyond. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with such talented professors and students and to be a part of the university community.
